This place has nice decal interior with a lot of old fashioned China and a lot of old fashioned cuckoo clocks. The food that be ordered was at best average. We ordered the salmon quiche which was actually quite tasty but the salad was below average. We also ordered the 2 kransky serving which again the kranskys were nice but the vegetables were again below average and small in quantity. If you are not in patient please take the extra effort to walk down the street as there is a large variety of restaurants in cafes where the food would be more of satisfaction. That's the mistake I made because at times I become too impatient.
Nice pastries and a simple menu. Rich drinks and good coffee. The decor was nice and was made up from all sorts of bits and pieces (Antiques, Clocks, Photographs and Paintings). Thanks
Visited this place last week. Nice interior decor and easy access but had food poisoning from the bee sting and quiche. Stale food. Stay clear of the quiche. The waitress was good but be aware of the owner. The owner was very rude to some customers. He treats tourists in a demeaning way especially Chinese. I have dined at this place many times but I will never return to this place after knowing that the owner is such a jerk. The owner was really a horrible person and the standard of the food has dropped significantly. Not going to sugar coat it. Zero stars.
We have been regulars here for years, no decades. The German Cake Shop is our go to place when we visit Hahndorf. Love the friendly service and good German food. Also, the clocks, paintings and other German decorations are fascinating to look at.
Really cool place! So many different artworks and clocks to look at while you wait for your food.The cakes, brunch food, and drinks were all delicious - and there was lots more on the menu Id like to try!Lovely spacious indoor and outdoor seating, and the light on a sunny day is so nice.I definitely recommend visiting - its a great spot with interesting connections to the German history of Hahndorf.
